Frequently Asked Questions

Does The Irish Rep use volunteer ushers?
Yes. Volunteer ushers receive one (1) free ticket to the show. Acceptance is on a first-come, first-serve basis and is based on availability. To volunteer please email ushers@irishrep.org with 3 dates of availability during the run of the production. The Irish Rep reserves the right to not use volunteers.

Do you rent your space?
Occasionally. We are a year-round production company that performs and rehearses on the premises, not a rental house, but depending on scheduling we may be able to rent our facilities. If we do rent our space, it would be only on a dark night and/or during normal business hours.
Because we schedule productions only a month or two in advance, and sometimes extend a production without much advance notice, we are not able to schedule outside events until we ourselves know our schedule.

Send rental inquiries to either rentals@irishrep.org or by fax to 212-255-0281.  No phone calls please.

Check out NYC Theatre Spaces for a listing of all the spaces for rent in the New York City area.

Can I advertise in your program?
Yes. The Irish Rep has many opportunities to advertise with us. Half or full page program ads are available for individual shows or for a full year. You may also advertise on our tickets, ticket envelopes or in our annual benefit gala journal. Please contact the administrative office at 212-255-0270 for prices, deadlines and specifications.

Do you accept script submissions?

The Irish Repertory Theatre is unable to accept full unsolicited scripts for our Reading Series or The Irish Rep's regular production season unless it is an agent submission. For consideration, please submit, by regular mail only and in care of literary manager Kara Manning, a query letter, 20 page sample, synopsis, audio (if musical), brief biography and SASE if you'd like your material to be returned. No email submissions unless solicited as such.

For the Reading Series, material must be unpublished and not produced in the United States, although UK/Ireland productions are permissible. Playwrights are encouraged to read the Irish Rep's mission statement for a better understanding of what we're searching for in material.

Please note that we're a very small staff and responses range from 3-6 mos (query) to one year (full script).
